The Blue Ribbon Foundation acknowledges that without the backing of our wonderful supporters, the task of creating and operating the charity would have been much more diffcult.
We are very proud to work with and be closely associated with, HASTINGS DIRECT INSURANCE SERVICES – ‘InsureBlue’ We thank them for their generosity and for the personal involvement of members of their staff whom we now consider to be the charity’s special friends!
Special support from generous families…
Anita Barber and her family from Sculthorpe in Norfolk
On 6 October 2011, Chris Barber of Sculthorpe in Norfolk, lost his courageous battle with penile cancer. He was just 52.
Before Chris passed away, having previously supported the Blue Ribbon Foundation, he and his wife Anita made the decision to donate the contributions given in his memory to the charity. Anita and her daughters also decided to give much of their time to the charity and have already embarked upon fund-raising projects. Recently they spent a whole day in the reception of their local Tesco Supermarket selling blue ribbons. Their efforts raised over £500!
The Trustees sincerely thank Anita, Kerry, Sharon and Katie for their support.
Jane Davies and her family, from Horsford near Norwich
On 13 December 2009, Gerry Davies of Horsford near Norwich, lost his brave battle with cancer. He was 66.
This sad loss for the Davies family happened at a time when the Blue Ribbon Foundation was very much in its formative stage. The decision of Jane Davies and her family to donate the monies given in Gerry’s memory to the charity was a turning point in the fund-raising to get the BRF launched. That generous gesture did, without doubt, help establish the charity. And son Jeremy, who works in the world of football, remains committed to using his and his late father Gerry’s love for the sport, to further raise the profile of the charity.
The Trustees sincerely thank Jane, Jeremy and Sarah for their support.
